Our Tourism Faculty Students Meet Sector Representatives in a Technical Trip

Juniors of our Tourism Faculty Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department and sophomores of Tourism Management Department visited Liva Bread and ARF Catering firms that operate in Gebze Kocaeli province at a technical trip organized by Asst. Prof. Mehmet Akif ŞEN. Asst. Prof. Dr. Semra POLAT, head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Serkan POLAT also accompanied them in the trip, which helped reinforcing the theoretical subjects taught in classes.

During the visit that was led by Ali ATMACA, the owner of the enterprise Liva Bread facilities with a production capacity of 100.000 pieces/days, students had the chance to observe all the processes from the acceptance phase of wheat flour to the storehouses to packaging.

The second station of the trip was ARF Catering, which was established in Gebze in 2017 and uses the latest technological equipment. Students toured the facility with a capacity of 35.000 people/days with the company’s Board Chairman Arif GÜLEN. GÜLEN answered all the questions of our students sincerely during the visit and our students were explained all the phases in a food production facility.
